The Labrador Canoe Regatta

A Tradition On Gosling Lake

The race takes place in the great Gosling Lake, located near our property, Gosling Lake Campground. Just 15 kilometers from North West River, the Labrador Canoe Regatta is all about keeping traditions alive. Several teams from across the province compete in thrilling races, paddling their traditional canoes with all their might. The races aren’t just about speed—they are also about skill, endurance, and bragging rights!

Their races are organized by specific age categories, giving everyone a chance to participate. The course is known for keeping visitors on the edge of their seats as they watch canoes glide through the waters. 



More Than Just Canoeing

Although the main event is the regatta race, there is still plenty to do beyond just that. There are some onshore activities, such as their food booths. Here, you can taste some local flavors, and traditional dishes, keeping your mind and stomach full as you watch the race. Live music can also be found during the event, letting you flow freely and dance to your heart’s content. 

The festival atmosphere brings a plethora of entertainment for you and your party to enjoy. The best part? It is a family-friendly event, meaning anyone can participate in the activities or simply sit back and watch the event unfold.
